I love mixing elements in creating cards for all occasions.

Mary Fish does a wonderful job in showing the different elements within a stamp and die set bundle that creates a lovely Valentine’s Day Card for a friend.

She explains her technique very thoroughly … and even reveals her motational inspiration.

Please watch Mary’s video tutorial to the right. Mastering The Mix Of Elements …

I found Mary Fish’s Video Tutorial Extremely Informative and Motivational:

Are you inspired?

Initially, when viewing the video above I was thinking of the die cut elements …

But, upon reflection … Mastering the Elements refers to all elements — the stamp, the die cuts, the colors selected and the embellishments. They all must fit together in order to make a card that is pleasing to the eye and also tells a story …

I added the last part, because I truly believe it does tell a story … the selection of the ink colors … the tone on tone quality … I get a bit of a vintage feeling … something she may share with her friend … and the subtle colors she used as well …

This brings everything together in a nice cohesive mix that speaks to the one receiving the card as well as the one creating it.

I don’t know about you, but it gave me a different feeling about making Valentine’s Day Cards.

Or using hearts on birthday cards … or any special occasion card …

We do need to see beyond the elements … and dig into the deeper meaning of using different elements in the cards we create. Not only for texture, but for that deeper feeling …

I hope this video tutorial by Mary Fish was informative and inspirational to you.

Thanks for stopping by!
